About This Quote

The more power you have, the less you can truly say. That’s the irony. Often times when we think about how power changes people, we think about the person who has it and what they do with it. We see them in a position of authority and we believe that they need that power to do good in the world. However, in reality, having power does not change people at all.

People are still people and will always be people whether they have power or not. Power changes how others treat you and how you treat others. It is simply an extension of our ego and it allows us to believe that we know what’s best for everyone else.

But, when we possess such power, we begin to forget how to communicate with one another and learn to act on our own interests instead of the interests of the people around us.
